| GOLD MEDAL AT THE CONCOURS MONDIAL DE BRUXELLES FOR IVORI 2006
Alella Vinicola, specifically the Ivori Red Wine 2006, has achieved a gold medal in the sixteenth edition of the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles which took place in Valencia from 25 to April 27.
The prestige of this contest is undeniable, and has established itself over the years because the samples are presented completely "blind" and the tasters (major figures in world of wine, winemakers, journalists, buyers and members of producers' unions) can not receive any information on the bottle (with the exception of the vintage of production).
For the second time, the 2006 Red Ivori gets the more important recognition in this competition, the gold medal. This fact confirms the excellent quality of wines, both whites and reds, which develops Alella Vinicola year after year.
The varietal base is made up of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, complemented with Red Grenache. Ageing was done in 300, 400 and 500 litre French oak casks during 14 months. This wine has a dark cherry colour, a nose with a deep aroma of black fruits (plum and fig), it is balsamic with spiced notes. It has a long-lasting and elegant finish with liquorice and smoked nuances.
It combines perfectly with charcoal-grilled or roasted meats, game casseroles, cheeses...

| ALELLA VINICOLA WILL PLANT 1 HECTARE OF VINEYARD A TEIA
Alella Vinicola Can Jonc continue giving support to the development of the project CELLA VINARIA TEIÀ to create a museum around the Roman cellar of Vallmora.
On this occasion, and continuing with the cooperation that began in 2003, soon we will sign an agreement with the Town Council of Teià to plant and maintain one hectare of vineyard of the variety Pansa Blanca, characteristic of our Denomination of Origin, in the environment of CAT Teià and the Roman cellar Vallmora. We will also work in the reproduction of a small testimonial vineyard which will be in the museum.
Alella Vinicola is the only winery in the Denomination of Origin Alella who has worked with this project because, in the words of Xavier Garcia (owner and winemaker): "we are faced with the possibility of collaborating in a unique initiative in Spain, is an opportunity to continue strengthening the excellent ties between wine and culture. "
Moreover, we must not forget that, since three years ago, we developed one of our wines more personal: Vallmora, a black grenache with a extraordinary quality that comes from the vineyards nearby to the Roman Cellar, to which it owes its name.

| IVORI 05 AND VALLMORA 05 GOLD MEDALS IN BRUSSELS
During the 14th edition of the prestigious Brussels International Competition which that year was held from 29 April to 1st of May in Maastricht, the red wines IVORI NEGRE 2005 and VALLMORA 2005 from the wine cellar ALELLA VINICOLA CAN JONC of Alella both obtained gold medals out of more than 5,000 wines from various wine cellars throughout the world. The jury comprised over 220 professionals from the wine sectors of more than 45 countries.
Currently, Alella Vinicola produces 3 product ranges: Marfil (for more than 100 years), Ivori (White and Red, both superior quality), Vallmora (a red wine named after the Roman wine cellar located in Teià). Over the next few months, a new line of naturally fermented sparkling wines will appear on the market under the name of Mayla.
The fact that two red wines from Alella, a place traditionally known for its whites, won this prestigious award shows the work and the efforts being made over the last 8 years by Alella Vinícola. Our target is to produce modern, quality wines that bring out the indigenous characteristics of Alella.
The annual international competition in Brussels recognises the work of the best producers worldwide and is seen as, on the one hand, a reliable reference for both professionals and consumers, and on the other hand, as a shop window for new wine trends.
|
| CELA VINARIA IN TEIÀ
Together with other public and private entities, Alella Vinícola sponsors work for the reintegration of the remains of a Roman wine growing culture in Vallmora (Teià), including two replicas of a wine press. Predictions are that, by the end of 2007, it will also include an area with a museum of wine-making equipment.
It seems this wine-growing plantation was the property of the Madani family, one of the most powerful in Rome. This dynasty was so important that one of its members was declared a possible successor to Hadrian as Roman Emperor and others were governors of Roman provinces in North Africa.
